Q: What is The LeaderShape Institute?
A: The LeaderShape Institute is an interactive, energizing and unique experience that builds leadership skills no other program can match. And since 1986, over 27,000 participants have graduated from our program from all over the world. But be prepared! It is six days of non-stop self-discovery and learning from practical experiences that build your leadership concepts and abilities. It's go, go, go 12 hours a day... And you'll love it!

Q: How is The LeaderShape Institute different than other leadership conferences?
A: The LeaderShape Institute environment resembles a laboratory more than a formal classroom. Students are encouraged to practice new skills, give and receive feedback from peers and faculty, and risk new behaviors in a safe, supportive atmosphere. Everyone at The LeaderShape Institute is a teacher and everyone is a learner. Unlike other leadership conferences, you will not have the choice in sessions to attend. Everyone participates in the 6 days as a community.

Q: What should I pack?
A: LeaderShape has developed a suggested packing list (Packing List). Please use this as a guideline only you know what makes you comfortable!

Q: Will I be able to use my cell phone or access the internet?
A: Cell phones should only be used during participant free time (generally meals, early morning and late evening.) Internet access is not available and participants should leave personal computers at home.

Q: Is my campus hosting a session of The LeaderShape Institute this year?

Q: How do I apply for the session on my campus?
A: Each campus has different methods of selecting their participants. In most cases the student will be directed to an online application. Please contact your campus Program Coordinator for more details. If you do not know who the Program Coordinator is on your campus please email lead@leadershape.org for assistance.

Q: Can I save my online application so that I complete it later?
A: Our online applications do not have a save feature. If you cannot complete the application in one sitting it is best if you type your answers into a word processing document first and then copy and paste them into your application when you are ready to submit it.

Q: What do I do if I have forgotten my log in information (user name and password) to the LeaderShape website and database?
